Basic Cutting & Welding Assessment – It is a prerequisite that participants attend the 2 day WTIA Safe Cutting and Welding Course. This is a one day assessment only as it assumes prior knowledge and skills in this area. Satisfactory completion of this course will result in a Statement of Attainment in the Nationally Recognised Competency MNCG38A ‘Perform Basic Cutting and Welding’.
Safe Cutting & Welding Refresher (4 hours) – This is a refresher only and assumes that the trainee has attended one of the courses above within the last three years. This is a brief refresher of the critical components with a prime focus on the practical aspect i.e. start-up & shutdown procedures, pre-operational inspections.
MDG 25 Introduction (2 hours) – Provides an overview of MDG 25 ‘Guideline for cutting & welding in mines’
